Community Reach Welcomes New Executive Director

January 31, 2024 - Cindy Hastings has been hired as the new Executive Director of Community Reach. Hastings replaces Cathy Greer who is retiring at the end of February.  

Cindy is a community leader who has been part of many local committees and organizations over the last several years, including two terms on Tiny municipal council (2014 – 2022).  In addition to public service, she has a background in advertising and business administration. Cindy will use her experience and commitment to the local community to take Community Reach to the next level.  

“Community Reach was there for our family when my father needed them during the last two years of his life” says Cindy “I am honoured to take over at Executive Director to support the compassionate team at Community Reach and help others in our communities receive access to this critical service.”

We look forward to improving and increasing our services throughout North Simcoe under Cindy’s leadership.”

Community Reach is an accessible transportation service for residents of North Simcoe.  They operate Transportation Linking Communities (TLC), utilizing a combination of accessible vans and volunteer drivers using their own vehicles. They provide rides for medical appointments, shopping and social activities for any 18+ resident of Midland, Penetanguishene, Tiny and Tay without access to transportation. They are also contracted by the Town of Midland to operate their Accessible Transportation (AT) service providing rides to Midland residents who cannot access the Town’s public transit due to physical, cognitive, visual or sensory disabilities.
